Sneakers for Success Giveaway During 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend
What an incredible day of service, joy, and community during NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles.
O.U.R. Mothers, Inc. proudly hosted our annual Sneakers for Success Giveaway at ICEF Inglewood Elementary Academy, bringing together dedicated partners and community leaders to uplift and inspire local students.
The day began with a heartfelt prayer and words of encouragement from our Chaplain, Gigi Williams, setting a tone of gratitude. Following opening remarks from our President, Wanda Durant, words of inspiration were also shared by Perry Jeter of JetFuel, along with Jan Adams of Ideal Electrical Supply and JMA Solutions, helping to launch a meaningful and impactful experience for the students.
O.U.R. Mothers, Inc. proudly supports the NBA during All-Star Weekend by focusing on families and communities, bringing together service, compassion, and purpose to create lasting impact.
This year, we were excited to provide 400 students with brand-new Nike sneakers, personally selected by our President, Wanda Durant, to ensure each child felt special and seen. Through our In the Paint Readers literacy program, we also emphasized the love of books and reading, with continued support from CJ Watson, retired NBA player, and the Durant Family Charitable Foundation.
In addition, we were proud to partner with Celebrity Sports Academy and CSA Kids Foundation, whose involvement brought energy and meaningful resources to both students and families. Through CSA Kids Foundation, 400 students received brand-new jackets, made possible through the generous support of Chase, 32 Degrees, and Black Lives Matter.
The day was filled with engaging and creative activities. Students enjoyed a lively magic show, activity stations organized by the Rainbow Group, and participated in a meaningful art project where they created patchwork quilt pieces that will be assembled into a lasting display at the school. CSA also led interactive experiences, including financial literacy sessions, creative arts activities, and basketball challenges that fostered confidence, teamwork, and joy.
Additional support from Raising Cane’s, Electrolit, and Good Eat’n provided meals, snacks, and refreshments, helping to make the day both fun and memorable for all.
We are especially thankful to our lead sponsor, Jet Fuel, whose support helped make this event possible. We also extend our appreciation to our generous donors Ideal Electrical Supply, JMA Solutions, the LA Clippers, and Baby2Baby. The Houston Rockets further enhanced the experience by providing team memorabilia, adding an extra level of excitement for the students.
We offer a special thank you to Ty-Anthony Davis, Superintendent, Gerardo Alejandre, Principal, and the staff of ICEF Inglewood Elementary Academy, for their leadership, partnership, and warm welcome in hosting this impactful event.
We were honored by the presence of Lisa Leslie, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, and Anthony Anderson whose support reinforced the importance of investing in our youth and communities.
We also, appreciate the Western region of The Mothers of Professional Basketball Players for attending and supporting this special day.
At O.U.R. Mothers, Inc., we believe that when organizations come together with a shared purpose, we can create meaningful opportunities that inspire confidence, hope, and lasting impact for the next generation.
Thank you to every partner, donor, and volunteer who helped make this day truly unforgettable.
