Mothers, Inc. is proud to advance our enduring commitment to literacy through our new In the Paint Readers Literary Program, a signature initiative designed to inspire a lifelong love of books and reading in children. In addition to our In the Paint Readers initiative, this year marks the renaming of our annual shoe giveaway—Sneakers for Success, Adopt-A-School Program at ICEF Inglewood Elementary Charter Academy.
A Day of Giving: Bringing Hope to Girls on the Path to Healing
This holiday season, O.U.R. Mothers, Inc. is honored to stand alongside Present Help in the Time of Trouble Refuge as they continue their vital work with girls recovering from the trauma of human trafficking. Present Help—led with deep compassion by founders Thomasine Morris and Dr. Tracy Becoat—serves as a safe haven for young women beginning the long process of healing and rebuilding their lives.

I am writing to ask for your support as we continue an effort close to my heart—giving back to my village, Tortuga in the island of Trinidad and Tobago. Last year, with all funds personally provided by me, we were able to bless the families of Tortuga and the surrounding villages during the holiday season. O.U.R. Mothers Book Giveaway – Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, DC
O.U.R. Mothers had the incredible opportunity to visit the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington, D.C. We had the chance to interact with the phenomenal children who participate in the club’s after-school programs. The after-school programs are designed to nurture and develop students’ critical thinking and life skills through interactive activities. Physical activities and positive social interactions are encouraged by dedicated staff. Technology and artistic programs allow students to explore other areas of interest.
