A Day of Giving: Bringing Hope to Girls on the Path to Healing
This holiday season, O.U.R. Mothers, Inc. is honored to stand alongside Present Help in the Time of Trouble Refuge as they continue their vital work with girls recovering from the trauma of human trafficking. Present Help—led with deep compassion by founders Thomasine Morris and Dr. Tracy Becoat—serves as a safe haven for young women beginning the long process of healing and rebuilding their lives.
The girls who live at the refuge, ages 12 to 17, are navigating some of the most difficult chapters anyone their age could face. Yet, within the walls of Present Help, they are met with patience, structure, and a genuine sense of care that centers their dignity and potential. It’s a place where hope is restored slowly but steadily, supported by women who refuse to let these young survivors be defined by what they’ve endured.
This year, O.U.R. Mothers will join Present Help for a special Day of Giving on December 20. The celebration will include a visit to the residence, a holiday dinner, and a meaningful shopping trip where each girl will choose her own winter essentials—coats, boots, hats, and gloves. These aren’t just items; they are symbols of comfort, autonomy, and the affirmation that their needs matter. Moments like these remind each young woman that she is seen and supported by a community committed to her well-being.
The generosity of donors makes this day possible. Every contribution helps create an experience that brings joy, warmth, and encouragement to girls who deserve to feel valued, especially during the holidays. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, O.U.R. Mothers ensures all donations are tax-deductible, and a receipt is provided for your records.
The holiday season offers countless reminders of what it means to show up for one another. This effort with Present Help reflects the heart of that spirit—a shared commitment to lifting up young women on their path to healing. Through collective kindness, we help make room for brighter futures, one act of care at a time.
